Cho-Wa is a green tea that is manufactured by Kumato Labs. Kumato Labs is based in Signal Hills, CA and was founded by Dr. Kumato from his desire to “bring the traditional Japanese remedies to the rest of the world”. Cho-Wa tea comes with a very nice story that advertises the product as a special Japanese formula dated from centuries ago when it was only available to the Shogun.

Is Cho-Wa Right For You?

Cho Wa is a type of Green Tea claimed to have many health augmenting benefits, including in enhancing the immune system, protecting the body from disease, and assisting with optimal organ function. This product is manufactured by Kumato Labs. The company is based in Signal Hills, CA and was founded by Dr. Kumato. According to the official website, his purpose was to make available the traditional Japanese remedies to the rest of the world. The company does not seem to be involved in any legal dispute at the moment.

There are a few complaints about the company’s failure to honor some of their obligations (such as the money-back guarantee policy), but this is as far as it goes. Unfortunately there is no information of the company’s history and manufacturing technologies, manufacturing facility or the origin of the raw materials, which makes it impossible for us to draw a definitive conclusion regarding the quality of the products offered.

However, we find it interesting that, unlike other supplements, this product comes with a very nice story according to which the formula originated in Japan centuries ago was initially available only to the Shogun. The story states that Dr. Kumato visited the Sensei healer on the mountain years before he was able to get the formula for the Sensei’s miraculous tea.

Stories on a third party website talk about the amazing healing properties of the Cho-Wa tea. The official website is actually very scarce on content and does not even list the exact ingredients included in the formulation. It seems to be just a sales site with details on the ordering mechanism and with the story of the legend that precedes the creation of this product.

Ingredients of Cho-Wa

Cho-Wa includes the following ingredients: Green tea, Rhodiola Rosea, Ginkgo Biloba, Epimedium, Astragalus root, Lyceum, Euphoria fruit, Licorice fruit, Shiitake, Reishi, and Maitake.

Love Cho-Wa —can you use this product more than once a day?

Melinda January 19, 2015 at 11:26 PM

I have been drinking ChoWa for some time now and really love the energy and vitality it seems to give me. However, has anyone noticed every feeling anxious or having anxiety after being on the tea for awhile? Just curious…

I have used Cho-Wa for many years and may have been one of the first users in the US. Originally, the tea came with detailed instructions about how the tea was to be used and that it should be embedded in a tea ceremony in order to be fully effective. I have followed these instructions religiously, knowing that this formula has spiritual underpinnings. The tea exudes powerful energy, which is palpable to an energy sensitive person. This energy cannot be explained with the listed ingredients alone. There must be something else in the formula, something of a more subtle nature.
I will drink this tea as long as it is available and I am alive.

I have many green teas in my house because I like drinking it a lot. It is by far the best stimulant that I use. Cho Wa is one of my favorite because it has both a wonderful flavor and a wide array of nice effects.

This is a great coffee replacement. I drink Cho-Wa every morning and it gives me more energy than my usual cup of coffee did and also it is a healthier improved version of morning energizer.I love the taste of it!

I drink this instead of coffee every morning and I feel full of energy and ready for action. Green tea is amazing for our health. It keeps our immune system healthy and strong and it provides us a multitude of benefits. Cho-wa is a good choice for a healthier lifestyle.

Very tasty tea! I like every bit of it, it truly a premium product. Sadly this shows in price as well. It’s not the most expensive green tea, but you can find similar products at lower prices. Most people can’t tell the difference between green tea varieties.

I can say a single bad word about this tea. It is of a very good quality and I had no surprises with it in any way, shape, of form. Unless you already have a favorite brand, you will gain a lot from giving Cho-Wa an honest try.

So lovely to be able to share a few kind words with all of you. I enjoy this tea very much. It has a wonderful flavor and it feels very nice when you drink it. It is in my top ten list of green teas. Have a very nice day all of you.

I bought three boxes of Cho Wa a few years ago when I was having stomach pains. It helped tremendously. I used about 1 1/2 boxes and put the rest away after the issue was resolved. Recently my hair started falling out in gobs and I suspected it was stress related. Even though the Cho Wa box had an expiration date of a year ago, I started using it again. The exact day I began drinking it, my hair stopped falling out. I thought it was a coincidence or just great luck until I saw my acupuncturist who muscle tested Cho Wa on me and it was extremely positive. She also said that some of the ingredients are good for kidneys and that the kidney meridian is connected to hair. Aside from my hair not falling out any longer, I feel calmer and more centered when I drink it. I am very sensitive to caffeine and Cho Wa doesn’t make me jittery at all. I can’t drink it on an empty stomach though. I wait a couple hours after breakfast.

This product is awesome! I drink it every morning instead of coffee and I have tremendous energy during the day! And more, I don’t have to worry about gaining weight anymore! I have already recommended it to my family and friends.

This is an excellent green tea with an incredible flavor and a nice kick of energy. It’s everything you can ask for from a green tea with a little extra on the top. Try it, it can’t do you any harm, as long as you like green tea this will be lovely for you.

Nicky March 30, 2013 at 9:47 AM

It’s very good but I know a lot of other products that are just as good and are significantly cheaper in the long run. Being a product that most people will use every day I think price is an important factor and cannot be ignored.

Anthony March 24, 2013 at 5:07 PM

No side effects and very pleasant, energizing effect. It’s an awesome product that anyone can enjoy. Try it a little and you will see the difference immediately. It’s better than the regular green tea that you find in your regular street shop by a long margin.

Green Tea has been my passion for many years. I have tried over a hundred different brands overall. This one is one of the best I ever had. It gives you both energy and clarity of thought, lifts your mood up and provides a general state of well-being. Add this on your must-have list, it’s a keeper.

Duncan March 3, 2013 at 7:16 PM

Sincerely, this is good but I can hardly see any difference from regular green tea. I think all the other great effects people are claiming to experience are placebos, especially since the backstory of the product is overly complicated and tailored to add this mystic feel so it sells better.

I’ve been drinking Cho-Wa tea everyday for the last three years and I’ve noticed that my energy levels are up and my skin looks healthier. I have to say that I gave up coffee, as I was not feeling well when drinking them both, too many stimulants.

Dave February 14, 2013 at 10:01 AM

My wife is using Cho Wa tea for about six months. she says it gives her an energy boost without the excess stomach acid that coffee causes. I also tried it and it made me jittery, I don’t know why, my calcium levels and my BP are good. I guess Cho Wa is not for everyone!

Timothy May 22, 2012 at 9:56 PM

red wine or green tea are the best known anti oxidantsdecaf cold green ice tea at the store .. sold in large packs, seitemmos carbonated with lemon or lime extra flavoring as well maybe

Ma Satya April 9, 2012 at 8:41 PM

My experience with using Cho Wa tea and in sharing it with others is that some people notice positive benefits from drinking it right away and others, don’t notice anything. The first time my fiance and I drank the tea, we both noticed an euphoria come over us within about two minutes. I also, noticed a mental alertness with improved energy as I have some “fatigue” issues. My fiance drinks it as it helps keep body pain down. We drink the tea almost daily and wouldn’t be without it; however, it doesn’t seem to work for everyone. I’ve never had any problem with any billing company affiliated with the company; we buy in bulk about twice yearly to save money.

Ariana December 4, 2013 at 5:57 PM

Ma Satya,
Where do you buy the tea in bulk? Thank you,

Greg March 14, 2012 at 6:41 PM

I’ve been using Cho-Wa for years and I really have to say I’ve never found anything else that works so well. God knows I’ve tried, too, ’cause the stuff’s expensive. I justify it by noting that it costs way less than getting Starbuck’s every day, yet makes me feel way better – you feel really light and fresh with lots of energy, but there’s never any jitters or crash like with caffeine. The flavor was kind of off-putting at first, but I couldn’t help noticing how revitalized I felt, so I made myself give it an honest try. Pretty soon I got used to it and now even like the taste. It’s earthy, but refreshing. I drink it cold and I have an oversized mug that I use for it, which helps because it makes it a bit more diluted. I also find that it mixes better if you begin stirring the water first and add the powder a little at a time.

This product work for me in loosing weight (178lb) to (155)lb in about 4 months and I drink the tea
everyday. It also gave me energy and it is sooooooo awesome.

Bill February 3, 2012 at 3:17 AM

i have been using Cho Wa for about 3yrs and i have to say it is a unique product in the sense as to how it makes me feel. I notice that it is more effective if taken at about noon on an empty stomache. the instructions say to take it in the morning when u wake. I have not gotten much of an effect doing that. For me if i wake up and feel crappy, cho wa will not help me feel any better but if i wait until i feel better and am awake at about 11 or 12 noon then it really kicks in and gives a potent effect. i am not that concerned about the caffeine becuse green tea is only one of quite a number of ingredients. i researched all the ingreients in this formula and euphoria root might be what gives the endorfin effect, or combined with the caffeine in the green tea. I am very familiar with the effects of caffeine and this is not a typical caffeine “high”, there is a temporary euphoric effect that is interesting. I wish there was some research on the long term effects on different health conditions, because i am quite confident that for me it has had an addictive quality to it that i cant totally understand and i find myself drinking it just to feel good. It must have some effect on long term health but i am not sure about what that would be. Bill

Mike February 2, 2012 at 8:20 AM

Angela when you get the herbs to make your own version of Cho Wa,could you post here the rite amounts and the ingrediances on how to make your own. That would be really cool, thank You

Angela Horner October 30, 2011 at 2:29 PM

The products works wonders for me!! I have diabetes and am very low energy, I only bought a one month supply and it was like night and day!! It even improved my mood. I can’t afford to buy more, but with the help of local herb stores I’m making my own.

Lisa-mom May 15, 2011 at 8:58 AM

I would love to try this Herb, however, it is awfully expensive. Has anyone found it for a lesser cost other than $49.95 or $59.99?

Mainer March 10, 2014 at 9:55 PM

Yes it is expensive to buy 1 or 3 packages.
The year supply works out to a dollar a day.

I have used it for 7 years. Most people put me between 40-50 (most say if I dyed my gray hair they would put me 30-40) I’m 62 and lead a very busy life style.

I hope that helps

Wesley Perry February 1, 2011 at 8:56 AM

I have suffered from Chronic Fatigue Syndrome for about 5 years and have searched high and low for relief from it; it just gets worse. I took the leap of faith and bought a 3 month supply of Cho-Wa and I can without hesitation say it is awesome.

Julian J October 7, 2010 at 8:51 AM

Asian traditional medicine doesn’t work for everything and it may not be suitable for every lifestyle/diet – it didnt work for my issues

Kimberly May 17, 2010 at 8:50 AM

The box and packaging looks genuine enough. The product tastes like powdered tea, somewhat mellower. It does give me a boost in energy, unlike a strong caffeinated beverage which gives me jitters, for me i just feel more alert for a few hours.

Noel Powell February 15, 2010 at 8:48 AM

I’ve been using Cho-wa and it’s worth it. Some say it’s a scam, but for me it’s very revitalizing
